Mindfully good shades
Neufound Eyewear produce bespoke, one of a kind designs that allow the wearer to express their true individuality.
Sustainability is at the heart of what we do. Through small batch production we stay at the forefront of technology, offering our customers a truely sustainable and artisanal choice in quality eyewear.
Designed right here in Aotearoa.
Each frame is expertly handcrafted from biodegradable premium Italian cellulose acetate which is sustainable and derived from cotton and wood pulp.
This material will completely breakdown when buried in soil or landfill over time, making it better for you and the environment.
All frames are built with stainless steel componentry and feature sturdy 5 barrel hinges with wire temple cores for added durability.
We choose high grade CR-39 lenses, a superior polymer based material with glass like properties - light refraction is measured at a similar rate to glass, offering the wearer ultimate optical clarity.
CR-39 lenses are highly abrasion resistant and come in a wide range of colour and gradient hues offering 100% UVA protection.
We are excited to release our first biodegradable lens collection in November 2023. A first in the New Zealand eyewear industry.
We are proud to collaborate with independent long term suppliers based in Hong Kong and China to produce our frames and products.
Ensuring a secure, healthy, and fair work environment for partners and stakeholders engaged in our supply chain is a priority.
Our factories employees are employed under ethical working conditions with access to the living wage as defined by the Global Living Wage Coalition which includes Fairtrade International, Rainforest Alliance/SAN, UTZ, Goodweave International, FSC and Social Accountability International (SAI) as well as ISEAL:
Compensation received for a standard work week by a worker in a specific location adequate to cover the necessary expenses for a decent standard of living for the worker and their family. Essential components of a decent standard of living include food, water, housing, education, healthcare, transportation, clothing, and provisions for unexpected circumstances.
We welcome any thoughts or suggestions on how we can do better.
